Save Our Surplus SOS

Bristol, UK

Welcome to the Save our surplus squad SOS A friendly network committed to sharing food to those who need it most. We have been volunteering for over 5 years now with Blonde Angels Street Team so now we formed a separate wing . We're here to bridge the gap between surplus and smiles, offering more than meals - a community ready to lend a supportive hand "Got extra food" Why not share the love ! Helping others with your surplus not only clears your pantry but also puts a smile on someone's face Together, let's make a difference one meal at a time Because "Sharing is caring " We helping everyone who comes through our doors. We won't let anyone down. We will help with food for free. We will further navigate to other places and services if needed. As we formed ourselves from Blonde Angels Street Team We are still helping homeless and shelters ❤ We are and will help those who need 🙏

Little Stoke Baptist Church

Bristol, UK

Our warm space is frequented by community members who live below the poverty line and often need additional help with feeding themselves and their children. We provide a free hot lunch once a week and give out food donated by our members and regular attenders but this is very sporadic.

Little Stoke Primary School

Bristol, UK

We are a primary school located in South Gloucestershire. We are very proud of being a school where the over-riding aim is to create a happy, stimulating and relaxed learning environment that promotes the development of self-confidence and good relationships. In this way, children achieve to high standards academically and socially as well as broadening their life experiences and cultural awareness. Little Stoke School is a purposeful learning community where both adults and children can develop learning skills, understanding and awareness. We expect high levels of achievement from everyone and encourage an attitude of hard work and responsibility. We aim to identify learning needs effectively and support individuals well; standing alongside children as they develop. We believe that ‘ability’ is not a fixed concept; it can be encouraged and developed to ensure that all children from all backgrounds are able to dream, plan and achieve. We are a tolerant learning community that, within limits, will enable children to make mistakes and learn from them in order to develop resilience and determination. We want our children to have the highest aspirations in life and to have an open mind to the way their lives may change and develop. Further information about the school values and learning characteristics can be found on our curriculum page. We believe that, unless shown otherwise, parents know their children best. We work closely with families to ensure the school aims are met, providing high levels of care, pastoral support, advice and guidance. We strongly value the relationship we have with our parents and recognise that effective partnerships are essential. We believe in self-expression and the importance of children being able to form opinions, socialise and speak confidently, communicate well and link ideas creatively. Our approaches to behaviour management focuses on developing self-awareness, responsibility and citizenship. We currently offer a free to attend pastoral breakfast club, which by invitation, supports those children that struggle to come into school in the morning due to reasons such as noise levels, volume of people and emotional stability as well as those children whose families are finding the rising cost of living overwhelming and are unable to provide 3 meals per day for their children. We have successfully gained access to a weekly local surplus food collection, which our staff regularly collect, allowing us to identify those families that would most benefit from regular donations of food to help them provide healthy and nutritious meals for themselves and their children. Due to the cost of living, which is constantly increasing, some of our families are finding it more and more difficult to afford basic foods and certainly healthy fruits and vegetables for their children.
