The festive season is all about sharing the magic of Christmas and bringing people together — and at Lidl, we’re delighted to continue this tradition with the return of our in-store Toy Banks in early November, in partnership with Neighbourly.
Our Toy Banks give shoppers the chance to donate new and unopened toys and gifts — whether it’s a small stocking filler or something extra special. Every donation will go directly to families in your local area through our partnerships with charities, foodbanks, and community groups.
And to help make an even bigger impact, we’re contributing £125,000 through the Lidl Community Fund in grants to our Toy Bank partners, supporting communities across the country this Christmas.
Lidl Graduate Volunteering Day
Following last year's huge success, the annual Lidl graduate volunteering day is back.
This day is specially designed to raise awareness around preventing food waste and the beneficial impact of surplus food donations. It gives our graduates the unique opportunity to spend hands-on time with local donation partners, allowing them to truly understand the vital work being done within the community.
Lidl Feed It Back
At Lidl we're working closely with our stores to distribute unsold surplus food to local communities. Through Neighbourly we're connected to charities, foodbanks, community cafes and soup kitchens where our surplus is being put to good use every day.
Lidl Community Fund 2025-26
At Lidl GB we are passionate about playing our part in helping to tackle hunger in the communities we serve. Helping the charitable organisations in our communities continue their vital work is how we believe we can do this. Our Local Community Fund is now in it's fourth year, an annual £500,000 fund dedicated to supporting our community partners to help those experiencing food poverty.
The fund is to be used for the purposes of supporting good causes tackling hunger in local communities; good causes connected with the Lidl surplus food program are invited to apply on a quarterly basis (in March, June, September and January).

Lidl Toy Bank 2023
Christmas is all about sharing and bringing people together.
To help make the magic happen, Lidl brought back their in-store toy banks, in partnership with Neighbourly, where customers made donations of unopened toys and gifts.
From stocking fillers to something bigger, the toy donations from Lidl customers were provided to families through store partnerships with charities, foodbanks and community groups. In-store donation points were open until 16th December 2023.
Alongside the in-store toy donations, Lidl is once again making a fund available to toy bank partners in early 2024 to say thank you for the support they provide to families in this particularly challenging time.
Lidl Community Fund
At Lidl GB we want to play our part in tackling hunger in the communities we serve. We believe that one of the most effective ways to do this is by further enabling the charitable organisations we work with to carry out their vital work. That’s why we’ve launched the Lidl Community Fund, an annual £500,000 fund dedicated to supporting our community partners to help those experiencing food poverty.
Lidl Hygiene Poverty Fund
Lidl GB is providing £50,000 worth of £250 grants for local organisations working to tackle hygiene poverty in their communities alongside the expansion to include hygiene products in the ‘Good to Give’ initiative.
Good causes connected to the Lidl Feed it Back surplus program will be invited to apply for a limited number of grants at the end of February and funds will be disbursed in March 2023.
This funding is intended to be spent to helping people that are struggling financially with access to personal care products, including (but not limited to) toothpaste, body wash, shampoo, deodorant, sanitary products, nappies and shaving products.
Lidl Bear's Toy Bank
This Festive season, Lidl has launched Lidl Bear’s Toy Bank in stores nationwide. New or unopened toys and games will be donated to local children through Lidl’s partnerships with local charities, foodbanks & community groups. By working with the network of Neighbourly charities, Lidl stores are partnered with a local good cause so that customers’ donations will directly benefit children in their local community. In-store donations are now open until 16th December. Anything from a small stocking filler or something bigger is welcome, with sought after gifts including toys, games, books, puzzles, and arts and crafts for a range of ages.
Alongside this, Lidl is making £125,000 of funding available for charities participating in the Toy Bank initiative.

Teaming up to tackle hunger
In early 2020, 1.5 million people in the UK reported not eating for a whole day because they had no money or access to food, and requests for help from local charities and foodbanks have more than doubled. At Lidl, we want to support these local groups and help make sure no families have to go hungry in future. Working with Neighbourly, and with the help of our customers, we want to do more to help the communities we serve.
