Lidl Bridgwater Carnival Way

Collecting donated foodstuffs and distributing it to local village people from the church rooms every Sunday morning. A donation bucket collects for the Food Bank. We will be having a stall at the local primary school starting after the February half term This is with the permission of the Head of the school. This will be one afternoon per week in the first instance. Last year we had a stall at our local Flower Show and hope to do that this year too. We aim to enable those in need to have access to donated food and also to people who actively dislike waste. Any produce left over is taken to Westfield Cafe in Bridgwater where there is a pop up shop every Monday morning. At present we are open 10.00 to 12.00 every Sunday morning for people to use to pick up donated food, as a warm space and we are doing refreshments in aid of the church.

Mingle Cafe is a multi-purpose cafe where everyone is welcome. Our "pay-if-you-can" menu and 'Surplus Stop' removes financial barriers, making it easy for people to enjoy a meal and connect with others. We are a trusted venue for a range of community groups, for example Pain Cafe by SASP and Coffee and Chat Somewhere House, serving as a reliable meeting point. Beyond our food and drink offerings, we actively work to reduce isolation by providing creative opportunities like arts and crafts workshops. We also offer volunteering and work experience opportunities. This allows people to gain new skills, build confidence, and add transferable skills to their CVs, providing a crucial stepping stone towards employment or simply a way to engage with the community. Our commitment to accessibility also includes a co-retailing space that provides local artists and crafters with a low-risk opportunity to sell their products and explore self-employment. This platform not only promotes their work but also helps them develop the skills needed to run their own business. Additionally, our collaborative co-working area fosters a space for community connection, shared learning, and creative thinking.
