I have been working in the community for about 13-14 years now in various capacities; writing and delivering programmes, mentoring as well as education consultation. Since the turn of the year, I have been community with hostel managers, youth practitioners, staff members, key workers and owner and director to some of the buildings, HMO's and various other premises about how the cost of living as effected a lot of young people living in these hostel and units. Subsequently, I decided to go around to several food banks and any organisation within the community that can provide food to young people in hostels. Aftet collecting as much food as I could. I packed as many rate and oxes equally and then began to deliver the community those in need. I started of by j delivering to about 5-7 young people now the database as grown to about 30-40 request each week. As a result, I was advised by my local authorities to go and set up a charity as I now deliver to not just young people hostels but (mother and bay units, ex-offenders, substance abuse an d anyone that cannot travel due to various reasons or disabilities) . Surprisingly, our database grows each week resulted in meeting with the trusties to the charity to ensure that all tmwe are doing is official. know what as made what we plan to continue to do so successful so far is the fact that I am able to deliver to food parcel to the people that cant travel for whatever reasons or people with disabilities. I also collect reduce food products from supermarkets and superstores 3-4 nights a week and share them between two hostels each night throughout the week. We will be apply for small charity grants in the future from some local authorities and other organisation that fund small charity just for support on thing like hopefully a larger storage, things that are in demand that are not donated to us such as (nappies and pampers), toiletries a bigger freezer and (electric and fuel). I have recieved such a positive feedback from managers, staffs, social workers key workers and owner and directors about the services and providing being able to bring the food parcels to individuals and to each hostels, mother and baby units, hmo's, ex-offenders hostels, substance abuse premises and to anyone in the community that made a request that cannot travel due to various reasons or disabilities, hence why the demand is growing each week. I know our charity as the right intention to continue serve the community and I think the services we provide the young people, and adults in these various settings is very much need by the feedback and the rapidly growing database of people requested food parcels deliveries. Our charity are dedicated to achieving our aims and objective to serve the community and wider community because we believe "we are the people we are help". We are a volunteer run group focused on reducing food waste and supporting local families in need. Our mission is simple: to make sure no one in our community goes hungry while tackling the growing problem of food surplus. Thanks to our partnerships with Neighbourly, Fareshare and Caboodle, we have benefited from strong relationships with local supermarkets and food providers—including M&S, Waitrose, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Nando's, KFC, Co-op, Lidl, Aldi, Pret a Manger, and Gail’s Bakery—we rescue surplus food and redistribute it to those who need it most via personal contacts and our Partner Organisations. This gives us the ability to provide varied, nutritious food parcels at no cost to families and individuals facing food insecurity. In addition to fresh food collections, we also stock a community cupboard with ambient and non-perishable items, enabling members of our community to access support anonymously and with dignity. Our recipients are identified through word of mouth and referrals from local schools and community organisations. Each week, we supply the equivalent of 2250 meals to local families and indiviuals as well as primary schools and community groups - ensuring that anyone who needs food can access it easily. Together, we are building a stronger, more sustainable community where food is shared, not wasted.

SSCKP is a vital community food initiative dedicated to providing benefits to individuals from all walks of life, including low-income families, single parents, homeless individuals, those with disabilities and mental health needs, vulnerable adults, students, and the elderly. By distributing SMART bags filled with fresh surplus ingredients from local supermarkets, SSCKP aims to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those in need within the Penge and surrounding areas.
