Flame Pentecostal Church Of Cherubim & Seraphim Movement Birmingham Uk
Birmingham, UK
Our food distribution project operates from the premises of Flame Pentecostal Church of Cherubim & Seraphim Movement, Birmingham UK. The site includes a multipurpose hall and a small kitchen area, which we use for preparing, storing, and distributing food parcels. We also host workshops and community support events onsite. We identify service users through a combination of referrals and direct outreach via our church and our sister parishes in West Midlands. Many of our service users are experiencing food insecurity, are unemployed, on low income and, elderly. We gather basic information to assess their level of need and tailor our support accordingly. Yes. In addition to food support, our charity provides advice and advocacy for Windrush applicants in our community as we are a Windrush scheme facilitator and it's completely free. We also organise well-being and health events, provide pastoral care and, emotional support through our faith-based services, educational and training opportunities. All our services, including food distribution, are provided completely free of charge. Our aim is to make support as accessible as possible to everyone in need. We are currently partnered with FareShare Midlands, through which we collect surplus food. This helps us serve a wider group of individuals with a variety of food options. We currently pay a minimal amount to get the food donation and, we raise funds internally to cover the cost. While we have not yet been featured in the mainstream press, our work has been recognised within the community through church bulletins, word-of-mouth referrals, and testimonials from those we support. We are currently working on expanding our visibility and welcome any opportunity to showcase our impact.
