Sainsbury's Store Support Centre Volunteering
We launched our Store Support Centre (SSC) colleague volunteering programme in 2024.
Our volunteering supports our community strategy and Plan for Better ambitions, with SSC colleagues playing a hands-on role in supporting local communities and good causes.
Our colleagues are passionate about making a difference in our communities, and there are lots of ways for teams to get involved. Whether it’s sorting food in the warehouse to be redistributed to communities, using cooking skills to prepare food parcels or getting their green fingers busy on a nature reserve.

Sainsbury's Local Fundraising
Sainsbury’s is committed to making a positive difference in our local communities by working with Comic Relief and Neighbourly to tackle food poverty now and in the future. We fund initiatives that help communities access balanced, nutritional, and sustainable food, as well as supporting projects that help prevent people and communities falling further into food poverty. One of the key ways we do this is through our in-store fundraising efforts.
Sainsbury's Good food for all of us Stardust Grants 2025-26
Sainsbury’s has launched a new Good food for all of us stardust community grant fund 2025-26 to support communities to become more food secure.
Food is at the heart of our business, and we strive to make good food joyful, accessible and affordable for everyone, every day. We believe everyone should have access to balanced, nutritional, and sustainable food, but unfortunately that’s not always the reality. Our community and partnerships work aims to address the key drivers of food poverty, which continue to be exacerbated by increasing costs of living.

Working with Neighbourly, our Sainsbury’s stores will continue this great work in order to support local communities gain access to food.
