How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, Sainsbury's has donated surplus food and products, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Aishah’s Food Charity

Weston-super-Mare, UK

It is a local hot meal food bank supporting local people in Weston super Mare and surroundings who are struggling with food insecurity. The charity also has been providing hot food to the homeless, homeless shelters, family Centre's and many other organisations who support the food insecurity initiative at a regular weekly basis. Every Wednesday, Aishah’s Food Charity hand out over 80-100 meals from a distribution site to people who are suffering with food insecurity. For those who cannot come to the charity’s distribution site, volunteers from Aishah’s Food Charity will deliver a hot meal for them to their house for the whole family.

Strawberry Line Cafe

Bristol, UK

The Strawberry Line Café on Platform One of Yatton Railway Station isn't your ordinary run-of-the-mill café. Our café is a social enterprise employing and training people with learning disabilities, enabling them to gain the skills to work in the catering and hospitality industry. Our café is used by commuters, locals, families, tourists and having been open for 9 years is a valued part of the community. Later this year we are re-opening the derelict cycle hire in the car park of the station. Given our location, next to The Strawberry Line National Cycle path, we look forward to seeing this facility enjoyed by many.
