We are Glenlee nursery class attached to glenlee primary school and hamilton school of the deaf situated in burnbank Hamilton. We hold a class up to 72 children each day. My name is Ashleigh and I am the community champion within glenlee and it's our main aim to bring us and the community working together and provide no food poverty. By creating our neighbourly page we aim to seek community links with any possible donations that can better our nursery and to provide and aid resources / food for our children and families. We as an establishment are limited to fundraising events and funding of our own to provide food products to our families, so we need your help!! With our surplus donations we shall be adding the food donations to our rack and take community shop for our families and community to access each day and when they are in need it is available. Provide snacks and food parcels for our families and children. These food donations will feed a family, being sustainable and insuring zero hunger. Larkhall * District Volunteer Group (LDVG) is a place where people, location and resources combine to meet the changing needs of our community. We aim to ‘promote the well-being of the community in South Lanarkshire’, through reducing physical and social isolation, increasing health and well-being; increasing volunteering opportunities; and supporting local social enterprises. We are open to the whole community, with a focus on the older population. We provide a vital lifeline to the community with services including: Morning and afternoon call-line which provides a friendly check and chat. Our 7 lunch clubs which recognise the social value of food, with members enjoying a nutritious 2 course meal, activities, partner information sessions and socialising. Free Handyperson Service, for non-emergency DIY jobs, assisting people in the community maintain their independence. Activity Groups: IT classes; genealogy classes; walking group; gardening group; Thursday night social group, craft group, Armed Forces Social Group and exercise classes. Monthly tea dances and football classics group. Community transport: we have 4 mobility friendly minibuses available to collect members from home and bring them to our centre. This service is available to other community organisations. Access to excess stock: we work closely with Fareshare, Greggs and Neighbourly who supply us with excess stock to be shared with our members. In particular, these donations are used with to provide the members of our lunch clubs with something a little different, and to enable us to provide hospitality to many of our other groups. These collections happen throughout the week and our members are encouraged to take what they need. We work closely with partners to maximise the impact of our combined resources on our community. We facilitate other community groups including a monthly community café, a social enterprise offering support to young adults with additional support needs, yoga, Pilates, meditation classes, weight watcher classes, Royal Bank of Scotland and Citizen Advice Bureau advice drop in clinics. We are the venue for Tenant and Resident Association meetings, Community Council elections, counselling services etc.

We are providing a safe and holistic environment for marginalised and excluded young people who have or are experiencing homelessness, mental health problems, isolation, exclusion and deprivation. We aim to support our young people to make informed choices and provide them with opportunities to thrive throughout their life journeys.
