GAIL'S The Fire Station, Southwark

The Lant and Bittern Streets Tenants and Residents Association is a volunteer led community group bringing residents together through gardening, food growing, environmental projects, volunteer days and community events that reduce isolation, improve wellbeing and create a stronger sense of community. We support residents across Lant House, Bittern House, Redman House and Trundle House in Southwark and have transformed neglected spaces into thriving community gardens and green spaces. We welcome surplus food, gardening tools, plants, compost, seeds, materials and volunteer support to help us run community gardening sessions, food sharing initiatives, environmental projects and events that benefit local residents of all ages throughout the year.

Acre Lane project and Clarence Avenue project are hostels that operate as a part of the Lambeth Vulnerable Adults pathway. Together the hostels have 22 beds. Both hostels house mixed gender adults who have recently been street homeless. The cohort of the hostels have a limited income and struggle to have income to spend on food. Many of the residents use community and faith groups to feed themselves. - The prevention or relief of poverty - Accommodation/housing - Provides buildings/facilities/open space - Provides services - Provides advocacy/advice/information

We are a youth centre based in Bermondsey SE16. As a charity we have been in existence for over 100 years supporting the young people of the area from our now purpose built youth centre. Young people from local primary and secondary schools drop in 5 days per week to access our youth clubs which range from 6-25 and work with young people from many cultures and backgrounds. Supporting young people with a range of needs from SEN and risk of exclusion from schools. Our young people pay 50p to use our facilities for each club and have access to our Sports Hall, Homework areas, Music and Dance studios as well as our arts facilities, the latest consoles and even a 90ft high climbing wall. This 50p also includes a meal. We would love to recieve food donations to help increase the level of food that we can donate to the young people and families that attend and due to our catering facilities we could take donations of pre cooked food or ingredients that we would use in the meals that we cook on site. We have been partnering with a local takeaway service Stuffyadumppling who donate us their excess food weekly as well as Gails bakery in Bermondsey who do the same. We also have a team of volunteers that support our youth sessions and we are always looking for new volunteers to join.
