The Five Loaves and Two Fishes Project ('Loaves and Fishes') is run by the Sisters of the Church in St Paul's Bristol. There are many people in this area who find it a daily struggle to make ends meet. Open access food bank and cafe: We are open from Monday-Wednesday, 10am-12.30pm. Loaves and Fishes gives out around 250-300 food parcels per week. Hot and cold drinks and sandwiches are always available. Marketplace: Through our partnerships with FareShare and Neighbourly and donations from local groups, churches and individuals, we distribute fresh fruit and vegetables, ambient and household items Prepay energy support: Individuals using prepayment meters for gas and electricity are able to apply for support. We are able to make direct meter payments via card/key top-up. Benefits support: We have a benefits advisor who visits fortnightly. We can also help with form-filling and signposting to other services.

Looprun is a response division and part of an independent social enterprise called Glass Mill Social Enterprise C.I.C. This is more than food and is part of a platform called RSBA1 (Response, Sustain, Build, Achieve). A free supportive services platform to help people get back on their feet. With up to 94% success rate and seeing once those receiving free Looprun response bags to returning to stores as shoppers with baskets full. These are the happy stories created when all come together to do good for good. Service users are signposted to Looprun mostly from referrals including professionals in social and healthcare. Looprun provides free non perishables, perishable food, toiletries, and clothing to people facing a challenge. Whatever you can do is turned into a grateful donation to a neighbour in need. As everything given and everybody counts. No food is banked providing a direct in and out service. We believe if the food is stored then a person in need is not getting any food, hence we provide an instant response and instant impact service. Looprun food donations can include fresh fruit, vegetables, bakery items and non perishables. Looprun has access to professional volunteers who carry out a confidential support service to people in need. From homeless shelters, hostels, sheltered housing, care homes and schools. This is a non voucher, free and confidential service. This means Looprun can reach more people in need with your food donations. Therefore we need your help to ensure we can supply the demand in this crisis. Anyone that receives a Looprun bag of essential food items is sustained thus creating a loop cycle. We, therefore, are a platform for a voice to be heard in the community and share life changing stories. It would be great to have more partners become part of these stories in your local community. We are a supported accommodation in the heart of Bristol (BS1) that provides temporary housing with medium to high support for up to 53 young people commissioned by Bristol City Council. Our residents are aged between 16 and 23 and are often in crisis when they are referred to us having left foster care or their family home abruptly often never lived on their own before. Bristol Foyer provides housing related support to equip young people with the necessary skills to thrive in life such as cooking/budgeting/employment/education/access to therapy and aims to support young people to build a real sense of self-worth and pride in themselves before they move on. We work closely with community partners to ensure young people have all the support they need when they leave here to aim high in life and manage 'adult life' and the responsibilities that come with that. We are currently partnered with Empire Gym who deliver boxing therapy sessions at the Foyer, we have the Cause who are a community grass roots organisation and deliver weekly sessions to the young people here, Bristol Drugs Project have started outreach sessions at the Foyer to enable a full service of support to young people that live here. LUSH supports us with donations of toiletries to ensure those who come here in crisis can feel fresh and clean in themselves. Key4Life supports young people at the Foyer who have been criminally exploited and runs a great programme supporting young people with employment support tailored for the young people. Saint Nicholas Church supports us during Christmas and Easter with hampers for the residents that live here to ensure they have Christmas presents and Easter eggs. We are very proud of the support we have been pulling together to ensure that the young people who live here feel like it's a home. Our next aim is to have food available in the kitchens for young people to help themselves to whenever they are hungry. Most 16/17/18/19 yr olds when they are hungry open the fridge in their home and make themselves some food without thinking. Our 16/17/18/19 yr olds that live here have to carefully budget and use food banks to support themselves with no treats. Any support with food donations to ensure their home feels like a home should feel would be greatly appreciated.
