How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, Pret A Manger has donated surplus food, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Sankofa Storytelling Arts - Wellbeing & Drama Projects alongside Arts Schools

London, UK

Sankofa Storytelling Arts empowers children and young people by fostering agency and creativity to express themselves through applied theatre, drama storytelling and arts - contributing to finding solutions and ideas on personal, community and global issues important to them. Issues are age appropriate, SEN embedded and include topics such as wellbeing, community responsibility, leadership and social mobility. Two of our services feature Summer and Winter School (which includes a free hot meal) and estate based after school workshops for children and families. We primarily deliver these services within Camden and surrounding areas of socio-economic challenges. We aim to continually foster: - Soft skills of effective communication, collaboration and quiet leadership. - For the children and young people cohorts; develop confidence, agency, artistic and solution based approaches using the arts. - Using the platform of Applied Theatre, crafts and storytelling to create meaningful conversations and positive memories. Food donated to Sankofa will be distributed both during the classes and collected by their families. Most importantly, food donations contribute towards many of their lunches or evening meals in the truest sense of the word. We thank you all for heavily subsidising their wellbeing via surplus foods and volunteering. We're a growing micro team with big aspirations and this 2025 are converting our organisation model to become a charity. Please contact us for details of any of the above points and thank you.

Central London Samaritans

London, UK

Central London Samaritans is the founding branch of Samaritans. We opened in 1953 at St Stephen Walbrook and have listened every hour of every day since. We are an independent charity (no. 1171330) based at 13 Salisbury Place, Marylebone, and part of the national Samaritans network. Our 400 trained volunteers give confidential, non-judgemental emotional support to anyone who is struggling to cope, for whatever reason. We answer over 50,000 calls for help a year by phone and online, one every ten minutes, and our drop-in at Salisbury Place is open 9am to 9pm, seven days a week, with no appointment or referral needed. We also take listening to the people at highest risk of suicide: homeless people at outreach sessions, prisoners at HMP Brixton and HMP/YOI Isis, people in police custody, ambulance call handlers, and, through Facing the Future, people bereaved by suicide. This year we are also out at universities, including the University of Westminster. Every £1 donated to us unlocks almost £5 of volunteer-delivered support, and 86p in every £1 we spend goes directly on our charitable services (year ended 31 March 2025, audited). Anyone can call Samaritans free, any time, on 116 123. The number will not show on a phone bill.
