Kimel Community Cafe
Wokingham, UK
We are a supported employment project helping neurodivergent young people find work. We are passionate about food waste so collect the end of day bakery to distribute to people in need. We don’t take photos or post about it on social media as we keep it low key as we have a large group of people that we give the food to that has been established over the last few years and I am sure they wouldn’t want it posted on social media that they are struggling. On the very odd occasion that we have a very big collection we would give away any surplus to our customers to thank them for their support but this doesn’t happen often. We obviously don’t charge for anything we collect. We are only a small cafe but we do a lot for our local community and we are very well supported. We have done fundraising for a few different charities including a raffle for cyclists fighting cancer as one of our staff members has a child with cancer.
