Ronald McDonald House provides free ‘home away from home’ accommodation at 14 specialist children's hospitals across the UK so that families can remain united and close to their seriously ill child. We are an independent charity, receive no funding from Government bodies and rely solely on the support of our families, businesses and community. Our Camberwell House, located just 5 minutes from King’s College Hospital, supports families from all over the UK. It is equipped with kitchens, playrooms, laundry facilities, has communal lounges and a garden so that families can feel at home. Families can stay as long as their child is being treated, whether that is for a couple of days or for years. Our aim is to create a safe environment where families can focus in helping their child get better without worrying about financial implications such as hotel, travel and food and being able to spend some time together therefore strengthening family stability and mental wellbeing.

We are a Youth Club for young people 9-16 in Bermondsey. This Borough is one of the most deprived with the aftemath of COVID and a time of austerity, young people have been severely affected. Often our young people seek food and provisions from us and we provide where we can. We put on a holiday programme every half term so as to provide our young people with experiences and opportunities that they may never get in their every day life. Our young people are ambitious and enthusiastic and we try to harness their many skills and gifts for the empowerment of their families and community. We want to be able to offer food when a child comes in hungry and it too embarrassed to request this. If we can, we offer the parents/carers provisions where we can. - Education/training - Provides advocacy/advice/information Onwards and Upwards is a registered UK charity that creates businesses to train and recruit ex offenders to help them back into community and break the cycle of reoffending. Our first business, XO Bikes, trains ex-offenders to be cycle mechanics at no cost to the trainee, delivering the accredited Velotech bike mechanics training syllabus. Upon successful completion of the training programme and showing a high degree of competence, we offer the opportunity to apply for a full-time role at XO Bikes, employed as a bike mechanic in our workshop. Our first Business is XO Bikes https://www.onwardsandupwards.uk/xo-bikes We currently like to provide all our trainees access to a free lunch and surplus food support whenever we can both during course dates and post subject to employment conditions. We currently have a team of 5 rising to 30 between now and December 2022 We currently have support from Greggs the baker and receive referrals from organisations, such as Catch 22, however would welcome any further support.
