Gurseva is a grassroots community charity working to tackle food insecurity, reduce social isolation, and create opportunities for people to thrive. We support vulnerable individuals and families across our local communities by redistributing nutritious food, providing community meals, and delivering projects that promote wellbeing, inclusion, and youth leadership.
We work with a diverse range of people, including families struggling with the rising cost of living, older people, refugees and asylum seekers, people experiencing homelessness, and individuals who are socially isolated. Through our food support programmes and community activities, we help people access healthy food, build confidence, develop new skills, and strengthen connections within their communities.
Support through Neighbourly would make a significant difference to our work. Surplus food donations enable us to provide fresh, nutritious food to people who need it most while reducing food waste and supporting environmental sustainability. We also welcome volunteers from local businesses who can help with food collections, sorting and packing food parcels, preparing community meals, supporting community events, gardening projects, and mentoring young volunteers through our community leadership programme.
By partnering with local businesses through Neighbourly, we can increase our impact, support more people facing hardship, reduce food waste, and create stronger, healthier, and more connected communities.

KHAIR GATHERINGS C.I.C
London, UK
Khair Gatherings CIC is a community-led organisation supporting women, children, and young people through local social gatherings, workshops, well-being and community trips.
Many families in our area face financial and practical barriers to participating in activities, particularly households with multiple children. Rising costs and limited local provision contribute to reduced participation and increased social isolation, especially for women and mothers.
We provide low-cost or subsidised activities that bring people together in inclusive, welcoming local spaces. Where needed, we offer women-only sessions to ensure accessibility and comfort for participants who would otherwise be excluded.
Our work helps strengthen connections, reduce isolation, and create positive shared experiences for local families. Funding or support would enable us to cover venue and coach hire, materials, and facilitation costs, keeping sessions accessible and affordable.
By supporting Khair Gatherings, you help families connect, learn, and thrive within their local community.
As a community C.I.C., our intention is not to sell the surplus food (we usually have to buy more food to add on top as fruits, veg, water and drinks are not included/provided by most supermarkets, for healthy meal/options were having to spend more money). There will be no charge for the food we receive.
Any surplus food collected will be used to provide refreshments, healthy meals and food free of charge to participants and members of the wider community attending our activities, programmes and community events.
