Our mission at wHoo Cares is to be the first port of call for all non-emergency support people living on the Hoo Peninsula may need. This support is sometimes extended to other areas of Medway. Our vision is to reach out to all people on the Peninsula with a view of providing them with the type of support they need helping getting them more connected to their community. This support is mainly provided by our fantastic team of volunteers. Therefore, one of our objectives is to expand our volunteer team so we can reach out to more people in many more different ways. We are looking for the right people to get involved with things like befriending, telephone befriending, driving and fundraising and events. We believe in giving flexible volunteering opportunities, so let us know if you have an idea of how you want to support the Hoo Peninsula. We want to break stereotypes! This means that we want people to understand that not only the elderly require help and support but also that not only retired people consider volunteering.
