Each week, our organisation diligently prepares and distributes warm, nutritious meals and food parcel groceries to individuals and families in our community who are grappling with the cost of living crisis. This vital service not only addresses immediate hunger but also alleviates the financial burden on low-income families, enabling them to stretch their budgets further. By providing warm meals and essential groceries, we offer a lifeline to those at risk of homelessness and struggling to make ends meet. Our initiative not only fills empty stomachs but also fosters a sense of community and support, ensuring that no one in our community goes hungry or feels alone in their struggles. Through our efforts, we aim to uplift and empower individuals, offering a beacon of hope amidst challenging times. The positive impact of our service resonates throughout the community, creating a ripple effect of kindness and solidarity that strengthens the fabric of our society.

Set up over 130 years ago, Blackfriars Settlement is a vibrant community hub deeply embedded in the local community. We support over 400 older people each year through our Positive Ageing service (PA) and 120+ people with mental health challenges through our Mental Health & Wellbeing service, as well as providing adult education to 1000+ students. We also support local grassroots and peer support organisations, provide a free legal clinic, a free osteopathy clinic, and run a social integration project aimed at bridging the divides between different local communities.
