How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, Pret A Manger has donated surplus food, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Looprun London

London, UK

Looprun is a response division and part of an independent social enterprise. This is more than food and is part of a supportive services platform to help people get sustained in their own individual way. With up to 94% success rate and seeing once those receiving free Looprun response bags to returning to stores as shoppers with baskets full. These are the impact stories created when all come together to do good for good. Service users are signposted to Looprun mostly from referrals including professionals in social and healthcare. Looprun provides free non perishables, perishable food, toiletries, and brand new clothing to people facing a temporary challenge. Whatever supermarkets, stores, and retailers can do is turned into a grateful donation to a neighbour in need. This is a response to real people in real-time. No food is banked providing a direct in and out service. We believe if the food is stored then a person in need is not getting any food, hence we provide an instant response and instant impact service. Looprun has access to professional volunteers who carry out a confidential support service to people in need. From homeless shelters, hostels, sheltered housing, care homes, soup kitchens and schools. This is a non voucher, free and confidential service. This means Looprun can reach more people in need with food donations. Anyone that receives a Looprun bag of essential food items is sustained thus creating a loop cycle. All are invited to become part of these sustainable stories in your local community. The Salmon Youth Centre In Bermondsey

London, UK

We are a youth centre based in Bermondsey SE16. As a charity we have been in existence for over 100 years supporting the young people of the area from our now purpose built youth centre. Young people from local primary and secondary schools drop in 5 days per week to access our youth clubs which range from 6-25 and work with young people from many cultures and backgrounds. Supporting young people with a range of needs from SEN and risk of exclusion from schools. Our young people pay 50p to use our facilities for each club and have access to our Sports Hall, Homework areas, Music and Dance studios as well as our arts facilities, the latest consoles and even a 90ft high climbing wall. This 50p also includes a meal. We would love to recieve food donations to help increase the level of food that we can donate to the young people and families that attend and due to our catering facilities we could take donations of pre cooked food or ingredients that we would use in the meals that we cook on site. We have been partnering with a local takeaway service Stuffyadumppling who donate us their excess food weekly as well as Gails bakery in Bermondsey who do the same. We also have a team of volunteers that support our youth sessions and we are always looking for new volunteers to join.
