Trees for Cities: Mass tree planting

London, UK

Trees for Cities has an ongoing partnership with Vision Redbridge, Culture and Leisure, where together we have been creating dynamic woodland resources within the borough for the benefit of all the residents. The woodland at Broadmead will create a peaceful and educational escape from the bustle of London life for the borough’s human residents and a vibrant, biodiverse habitat for local nature. This type of volunteering provides excellent team building opportunities with groups being able to split up into teams to compete against each other to see who can plant the most trees in the allocated time frame. Volunteer opportunities include: • Site preparation – preparing the ground and marking up the planting design • Planting – slit planting the small sapling trees • Mulching – ensuring the trees get the best possible start in life Our Corporate Challenge Days are great fun, and a fantastic opportunity for team building in an outdoor environment. Employees can get a real hands-on experience of Trees for Cities’ work, whilst learning new skills. We charge £50 (+ VAT) per volunteer to cover costs of supervision, health & safety and equipment. We can cater for groups of 5 - 50 volunteers. Corporate Challenge days are fully supervised by our experienced project coordinators. Full training will be given and equipment will be provided. Dates available are 28, 29 and 30 January, and 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13 February 2014. Please get in touch for more information or to book a day!
