How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, Pret A Manger has donated surplus food, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Community Care Collective C.I.C.

Mitcham, UK

We are a volunteer run group focused on reducing food waste and supporting local families in need. Our mission is simple: to make sure no one in our community goes hungry while tackling the growing problem of food surplus. Thanks to our partnerships with Neighbourly, Fareshare and Caboodle, we have benefited from strong relationships with local supermarkets and food providers—including M&S, Waitrose, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Nando's, KFC, Co-op, Lidl, Aldi, Pret a Manger, and Gail’s Bakery—we rescue surplus food and redistribute it to those who need it most via personal contacts and our Partner Organisations. This gives us the ability to provide varied, nutritious food parcels at no cost to families and individuals facing food insecurity. In addition to fresh food collections, we also stock a community cupboard with ambient and non-perishable items, enabling members of our community to access support anonymously and with dignity. Our recipients are identified through word of mouth and referrals from local schools and community organisations. Each week, we supply the equivalent of 2250 meals to local families and indiviuals as well as primary schools and community groups - ensuring that anyone who needs food can access it easily. Together, we are building a stronger, more sustainable community where food is shared, not wasted.

WHATEVER your situation, income, race, ability, gender or sexuality - rich or poor - we are here to help build a community where all are welcome - to eat, drink, laugh.. and talk. A place where you can discover yourself - through supportive friendship and genuine community. We are a new Charity aiming to provide a safe and secure space for people to be together, create simple shared experiences, and to end the legacy of isolation in this post-Pandemic era. All are welcome. Please support us - as we try to build a meeting place - and sanctuary - for all. Rudi Director Open Souls Be Part of The Solution We are currently looking for a hall or church building to host once a weekly event - for six hours during the day on the same day of each week on an ongoing basis. If you are inspired by our mission, and can offer hall or church space, or would like to contribute financially - little or large - we would like to hear from you. Please get in touch with me, and I would love to hear your story and chat to you personally. We would like to provide both volunteers and community members with time to stop - and just be. A place to sit and relax - with hot foods and drink. An invite for ALL - for those who want to come - there is a place at our table.
