Pret Glasgow, Byres Road

We are an independent food bank providing a range of grocery and store cupboard items to the most vulnerable in society. No referrals are necessary and we are staffed entirely by volunteers. The food bank operates from the rectory of St Gregory's so there are no overhead costs. All donations of food and money are used directly to help those in need including young families, those suffering with addiction issues, refugees and asylum seekers.

At Knightswood Secondary School we run a free breakfast club for 100 + young people every morning with staff volunteering an hour of their time from 8am. We also run a stall with free snacks at interval and lunchtime which feeds 300+ pupils. Many of our young people and their families are living in food poverty. National Ugly Mugs (NUM) is a UK-wide charity aiming to end all forms of violence against sex workers. We provide safety tools and resources, casework support, mental health resources, emergency financial support, vocational support, and in-person community at NUMbrella Lane in Glasgow. In 2023, we welcomed 281 sex workers through our doors at NUMbrella Lane, our drop-in space in Glasgow. Our unique space places sex workers first, being led by and for members of the community. Here, our members are able to access harm reduction supplies, a food bank, a clothing swap, language support, events, and build connections with others. Our victim support caseworker also provided support to 48 sex workers following harm. Members shared that NUMbrella Lane has improved their mental health and sense of community: “I’m grateful for the space that NUMbrella Lane provides. It stops me feeling so alone.” please note, we are unable to take on volunteers.
