We redistribute surplus food from supermarkets to the local community and local charities. This not only saved food from landfill but also helps to build community. - What premises does your project operate from? Currently 38 Linkside Rd, L25 9NX. This is registered with EHO. We have just been offered one day a week in a local shop. We are also working with two local councillors (Mirna Juarez and Sharon Connor) to rent space in a local church hall in an evening too. - How do you identify service users and their needs? They approach us through our facebook page, word of mouth or other people/organisations direct them to ourselves. For example, Alice Bennett, an ex local councillor directed us to a lady with seven children. They also come to our Friday community event in Hunts Cross Gardens. - Are there any other services provided by your organisation other than food support? Our other aim is building community and providing opportunities for volunteering. - Is there a charge for the service(s) provided by your organisation? No - Do you currently collect surplus food from any other retailers? Yes – Tesco and a local Co op. - Has there been local press or similar that demonstrates your organisation's work in the local community? Not yet although the local councillors do share our facebook page. - Would it be possible to provide photographs of work that your organisation does in the local community? There are lots on our facebook page and Instagram page - Is your project a registered charity, registered CIC, social enterprise or non-profit organisation? We have made an application. - Have you partnered with other local good causes or council members who may be able to provide a reference? New Beginnings - Improving Lives CIC run's a mixture of different services right across Liverpool. We run Men and Women Mental Health Boxing projects. A City wide Foodbank Delivery service for those who are in extreme poverty. Some of those referrals may be people who have been placed by the City council in accommodation without cooking facilities although we are not funded by the Council. We have recently opened up a Community store in Tuebrook in a very deprived area selling surplus and damaged goods and very low prices, we also offer other services here too like Computer and WIFI access.

SUPPORT FOR PEOPLE WITH MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES IN SUPPORTED LIVING. Devonshire Road are seeking your support to help people we support that have enduring mental health issue. What premises does your project operate from? We support 13 residents across one site to remain living independently providing high quality; person-centred care and support, creating a place where people want to live and can thrive. We operate out of 3 Devonshire road in Liverpool. How do you identify service users and their needs? We identify service users that need food donation through budgeting and meal planning support offered by staff. Food donations are redistributed to service users who have been identified to be financially unstable due to their personal circumstances and would benefit from the food donations for a varied and healthy diet and the extra support. We believe this will enrich the lives of people we support so they do not go without. Are there any other services provided by your organisation other than food support? Devonshire road is a supported living accommodation with 13 service users. We provide support for people with mental health needs in accessing the community and helping the people we support get the help they need in the community. We also organise Sunday roast dinners and tea and coffee meet ups for the people we support. Is there a charge for the service(s) provided by your organisation? The Accommodation is funded by local authorities and people that live here are funded by the Local authorities. Activities like the Tea and Coffee and Sunday roast are provided for Free. Do you currently collect surplus food from any other retailers? No, we are currently not collecting surplus food from any other retailers. This is why we have registered an account on Neighborly.
