The objects of the CIO are: 3.1. The Relief of Children and Young People: To relieve children and young people aged 0-18 residing in Greater Manchester and the North West, or any other UK location with similar needs, who are in need by reason of their youth, ill-health, disability, financial hardship, or other disadvantage. 3 .2. Emotional Well-being and Development: To promote and support their emotional well-being, building resilience to overcome life challenges, and enhancing their capacity to manage social relationships at home, school, and within their communities 3.3. Support for Families: To provide grants and support to families of children and young people who are in need due to their youth, ill-health, disability, financial hardship, or other disadvantage. 3.4. Provision of Services: To provide practical support, advice, guidance, and access to enriching experiences that facilitate social learning and the development of new skills among children and young people. 3.5. Specific Services: In particular, but not exclusively, the charity will provide a range of activities, including therapeutic adventures, residential projects, individual mentoring support, and group-based activities that promote emotional resilience and life skills development. 3.6. Definitions: - Children and Young People: Individuals aged 0-18 (Support may be extended to the families of children and young people when it primarily benefits a specific child or young person within the family). - Geographic Scope: Greater Manchester and the North West, including any counties sharing a boundary with a Greater Manchester town, namely Lancashire, Cheshire, Cumbria, and Merseyside - Emotional Well-being: Refers to aspects of an individual's psychological makeup affecting their capacity to recognize and manage emotions, their sense of self, and their ability to navigate social and psychological challenges. - Social Relationships: Interactions with others in society, such as siblings, parents, friends, schoolteachers, and classmates. - Therapeutic: Activities intrinsically or specifically designed to support individuals in coping with difficulties, particularly those related to emotional well-being. - Residential: Projects involving at least one overnight stay away from the child or young person's home.

The project is an environmentally focused food surplus redistribution initiative operating across South Manchester. The project's primary purpose is to prevent food waste by redistributing good-quality surplus food that would otherwise go to landfill, delivering clear environmental benefits while also supporting good-quality surplus food that would otherwise go to landfill, delivering clear environmental benefits while also supporting the wider community during the ongoing cost-of-living crisis. The initiative operates on an open and inclusive basis, with no referral requirements, assessments or eligibility criteria. Food is shared openly to ensure surplus is used efficiently and responsibly, regardless of background or circumstances. This is non-discriminatory approach allows the project to remain focused on waste prevention while offering practical support to anyone seeking to reduce food waste and household food costs. The project is supported by volunteers from all walks of life, including professionals and warm-hearted local parents, who work together to collect, sort and redistribute surplus food. This diverse volunteer base reflects the community-led nature of the initiative and supports its ongoing operation. All food is redistributed free of charge. The project does not charge for its services and does not operate as a commercial or profit-making model.

We are a community group who provide meals and surplus food to a range of vulnerable groups. We use the food to prepare community meals for a range of families and individuals (named below) and the remainder is distributed to these people. These being the elderly, individuals suffering from Mental Health problems, Homeless individuals, Families with and without children and people who attend the centre for various community groups that the centre holds every week. This again is for a range of people. The ethnic make up of the people is very diverse aswell. We provide a safe non-judgmental space for people.not only to get food but to also feel safe and to share and liase with one another . We provide a space which promotes health and well being as a whole. A space where people can connect and share. The attendance and response to our food is incredible and quite frankly blows us away. It is testimony that this food is massively needed and appreciated by the community. One comment that was made was by an elderly man who was so grateful and actually said and I quote " Thank you very much for this, you have kept an old man alive this Christmas ". No more needs to be said really.
