Your Place is a charity dedicated to solving homelessness in east London, one person at a time. We’re here to offer hope, a home and a healing place to grow, where people who’ve lost their homes can get the individual support they need within a safe, caring community. We work closely with each person who comes through our doors, guiding them to meet their own needs through one-to-one and peer-led support. With specialist teams and a compassionate community around them, residents make their own journey to independent living — and to a better place. Your Place is based in the East London borough of Newham, which has the highest levels of homelessness in the country. The demand on our services is increasing, and each year, we support hundreds of individuals on their journey away from homelessness for good through accommodation, personalised support related to education and training, health and wellbeing, employability, budgeting and securing and sustaining a tenancy. St Johns Community Centre was established in 1968. it is a voluntary sector organisation firmly rooted in the local community. Our Centre is home to many intercultural and inter-generational groups. We promote diversity by bringing together people from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds. We also support those who endeavour to make the Royal Docks area a stronger, healthier and happier place to live for all with a focus on the environment and improving biodiversity. St Johns Community Centre runs a number of services to support the entire community from toddlers up to our senior community members in their 90's. Food Hub We run a FoodHub 4 days per week supporting over 125 families weekly with food parcels, which is an essential service helping families to cope amidst the cost-of-living-crisis. St Johns Community Centre provides essential wrap around services at the foodbank including benefit advice and mental health support in partnership with Newham Talking Therapies. Well-being services St Johns Community Centre is a wellbeing hub offering a safe space to the community aiming to improve social connections, encourage engagement, increase resilience, improve mental and emotional health and reduce loneliness and isolation. St Johns Community Centre runs friendships groups for over 50's, Line dancing, a walking group, c, a women Wellbeing art group and a mens mental health support group. All groups are requested to pay £2 donation. St Johns Community Centres wellbeing gardening group look after and maintained a number of green spaces in the local community and regenerate green spaces that have been neglected and abandoned, increases more access to green spaces in the community. St Johns Community Centre also hosts a number of events and party's through the year for the community to bring people together and celebrate our rich and diverse community.

Change Grow Live (CGL) operates from three hubs across Newham. Our hubs are strategically located to ensure accessibility for residents throughout the borough. We identify service users through referrals from healthcare professionals, community organizations, and self-referrals. Upon initial contact, we conduct comprehensive assessments to understand their specific needs and develop personalized treatment plans. CGL offers a variety of services aimed at supporting individuals in their recovery journey, including: - Personalized treatment plans - One-on-one counselling and group therapy - Health and wellness programs - Support for families and loved ones - Educational workshops and community outreach programs All services provided by CGL are free of charge to ensure accessibility for all individuals in need. We do not currently collect surplus food from retailers. However, we are actively working to develop further programs that will enable us to do so in the near future. Our goal is to partner with local retailers to collect surplus food, which we can then distribute to our service users and the wider community. Additionally, we are planning to offer cooking classes that utilize these surplus foods, helping individuals learn to prepare healthy and nutritious meals. These initiatives aim to address food insecurity and promote healthy living among our service users. We have partnered with several local organizations and council members, including Forest Gate Pride, Black Pride, and local gym facilities. We can arrange for references to be provided.
