How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, Sainsbury's has donated money, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Basingstoke Foodbank

Basingstoke, UK

We're currently based in the Tempus Business Centre (a Vivid homes business unit) and deliver food to homes in food crisis every day of the week. Clients who have been assessed for crisis are referred to us by one of our partner local agencies who has assessed that their client is in financial / food crisis and is in danger of going hungry. We drop off a generous 3 days' worth of food (non-perishable + bread, fruit, eggs and veg) & toiletries for themselves and their household. We aim to find resolutions to the immediate crisis that is causing their need to use the Foodbank. Anyone in ‘food crisis’ can be referred to the Foodbank, regardless of their background, race or beliefs, and we have partnered with approx 100 agency teams in the region who assess people's situations, offer on-going support, and issue Foodbank e-Vouchers through their client's time of crisis. Our volunteering team is compassionate and non-judgmental. Everyone who receives help, whether that's from our admin team answering calls or from our volunteer delivery drivers, is treated with compassion, dignity and sensitivity.
