Bentswood Hub C.I.C. was set up to take on the responsibility of the community larder and some other activities in the Bentswood area when Sussex Clubs for Young People sadly went in to liquidation. Bentswood Hub C.I.C. offers a holistic approach to youth and community support, empowering the community to embrace it's youth and build better futures. Bentswood Hub C.I.C. delivers the following activities: Emotional support and sign-posting. A community larder offering fair access to food for all. Pop-Up events to support the community at key points in the year. A junior and a Senior youth group. A 'Just for Girls' weekly emotional wellbeing group. Training and work experience programmes for young people. A Man2Men weekly session. A knit and natter weekly session. A weekly silent book club. Volunteering opportunities.

Walthamstow Toy Library and Play Centre provides a safe and stimulating place for the under fives and their adults to play, learn and interact. We run daily play sessions which are guided by our ethos of 'Learning through Play', and have an extensive toy loaning service for families to borrow toys which don't cost the Earth. Our beneficiaries say that we are a lifeline: - supporting children to learn, develop and prepare for nursery education; - promoting bonding and attachment between children and their adults; - reducing isolation and helping parents to connect and develop supportive social networks; - promoting the health and well-being of families through a variety of initiatives including breastfeeding and mental health support; and - enabling access to our services from all sections of our local community particularly those on a low income (by offering free membership and reduced session and toy loaning fees). We also provide volunteering opportunities to local students and residents. As a membership organisation we represent the aims and interests of our members. Our board of Trustees are all local residents and users of our service. In all our work we aim to adhere to our core values by providing services that are: • Child-centred • Supportive • Fun • Sustainable • Community-based • Educational We are soon (July 2021) to open an additional site in the borough at Langthorne Park Pavilion, Leytonstone.
