How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, Sainsbury's has donated money, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Food For All

London, UK

Food For All (FFA) is a registered charity based in London (also in other parts of the UK), which distributes over 2,000, spiritually enriched nutritionally balanced vegetarian meals, to different groups of people, including the homeless, disadvantaged, financially challenged and the ‘needy’ on a daily basis, for free! It is open for all people to take part. FFA is unique, as unlike other food distribution services, FFA is based on the philosophy of community self-help and is geared towards enabling homeless people to learn new skills. FFA is committed to tackling homelessness and social exclusion by helping people to make informed choices and find solutions to their problems, and encouraging voluntary activity.

The Shelter MK

Milton Keynes, UK

At The Shelter MK, we provide shelter, food, and one to one support for people who are street homeless and looking for help to get their life back on track. We provide 24/7 shelter and support, helping our guests with issues such as health, ID, finance, employment and finding suitable accommodation. The reasons someone becomes street homeless is usually complicated and unique, and that is why our support and solutions are tailored to the needs of the individual. Milton Keynes has a significant number of homeless people due to high rents and low wages. Sadly, there are limited options for a single homeless person in Milton Keynes and The Shelter MK offers a lifeline to its guests. We started our charity in 2017, using a converted double decker bus for accommodation but we now have four properties offering 21 beds around Milton Keynes. We give far more than a bed for the night. Rebuilding a life takes many steps and it can be almost impossible to get back on the ladder without a safe place to rest your head, without experiencing kindness, being able to regain your health and having knowledgeable people to help you move on. That’s what our guests receive at The Shelter MK. Thank you for choosing to support The Shelter MK. However you decide to help, a donation, fundraising activity or volunteering, you can be sure it will make a big difference to the lives of the people we help – people experiencing street homelessness in Milton Keynes with nowhere else to turn.
