As a charitable company Growing Places operates a variety of childcare centres around Havant and Fareham Boroughs caring for children aged from 6 months to 11 years. Well trained, highly motivated and committed staff ensure that all our children are provided with a safe, secure, warm, stimulating play and learning environment. Growing Places community department run family cookery workshops, introduction to and exploration of a verity of fruit and vegetables and how they contribute to health and wellbeing. Cook and eat workshops where we show families and the community how to make healthy low cost meal on a budget. Our community pantry is a lifeline to our community in providing a helping hand to others, and saving good food going to landfill. Alongside our soon to be community garden starting 2022! KANON.foodshare: Fighting Food Waste, Poverty, and Hunger About Us: KANON.foodshare is a charitable organization founded by RAF Hrabal, who has been living in the Copnor/Hilsea area since 2004. The organisation was started in year 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, to support the local community by sharing surplus food that would otherwise go to waste. KANON.foodshare operates as a small, not-for-profit social enterprise focused on tackling food waste and economic poverty at a local level. It is also the most neighbourly-friendly organization in the city, operating and welcoming guests from the comfort of a private home. Mission & Vision: KANON.foodshare's mission is to tackle food waste, fight poverty and hunger, and help build stable, resilient, and thriving communities based on neighbourly cooperation and mutual support. The organisation collects surplus food from local food businesses and redistributes it among individual customers and other charitable organizations. The organisation has received the PEACE AWARD from The Peace Centre and the FREEDOM of the City of Portsmouth by the Lord Mayor for their sterling efforts in carrying on regardless right through the Covid-19 Health Crisis! Our school is in the heart of a deprived area within Portsmouth. We are the third most deprived school within Portsmouth and are doing our upmost to provide the best education and care for all our children and families within Portsmouth. Times are very tough for our families who are trying their best to provide for their children. But with the cost of everything it’s very hard for our families to provide the basics, Meaning that adults are missing out on meals, clothes etc themselves. As a school we have set up a family pantry where families can Access and have food hampers made up for them so they can have hot meals and toiletries to wash with. We would be very grateful for surplus supplies of food so we can make sure that children have a hot meal when they are at home in the evenings and weekends. We also like to make sire that families needs are met as much as possible by providing weekend hampers.
