Hastings Foodbank exists to help eradicate food poverty in Hastings and the surrounding area. We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

We provide accomodation and work for 23 formerly homeless people.We provide a home for as long as someone needs it and meaningful work in our social enterprise. Living in a stable environment with the opportunity to work helps our companions, as residents are known, to regain lost self-esteem and the confidence to get back on their feet. Emmaus is not about giving hand-outs, it’s about providing people with the tools to help themselves. This approach has been proven to produce long-term, sustainable results. For the many people who have been stuck in a cycle of homelessness, Emmaus provides the space and support they need to take stock of their lives and make positive changes for the future.

Surviving the streets UK was founded in 2017 by brothers James Robinson and Peter Robinson to help and support as many homeless & less fortunate people with nice hot meals, fresh warm clothing , sleeping bags and a good friendly chat and support. We have a great team of volunteers working every free hour to support our local communities. We are all passionate about what we do and all work as non paid nonprofit volunteers to help make a better tomorrow.
