The Wishing Well Project

Crewe, UK

The Wishing Well is a health and wellbeing organisation that prioritises the health and wellbeing of our people, staff and volunteers over any financial gain. The Wishing Well was founded to tackle health inequalities in the West End of Crewe. As a local community project it developed and delivered activities and services for our society’s most vulnerable people. The vision was to provide holistic services for all areas of the community and this remains the blueprint for the organisation. By acknowledging that any situation or crisis can be made up by multifactorial circumstances, The Wishing Well sought to offer support to children, families, adults and older people. Born in Crewe and expanding across south Cheshire, The Wishing Well became the focal point for many individuals, groups and families. The open door policy that we have reinforced to this day meant that many of our services are shaped, designed, developed and delivered by the community themselves. We seek to achieve our mission by working towards our key aims below: • Improve the health and wellbeing of our communities • Reduce health inequalities • Provide opportunities for people to live well and for longer • Remove barriers to participation in health and wellbeing activities • Reach out to the most vulnerable members of our community
