How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, Sainsbury's has donated money, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Community Hub South, Hartlepool

Hartlepool, UK

We are a Community Hub in the heart of Owton Manor estate in Hartlepool. Each Thursday we run a Community Kitchen serving the local community. We serve a two course hot meal each week for a donation of £1.50 for those that are able to donate, children eat free. We also serve tea and coffee each weekday and on Wednesdays we have home baked cakes and pastries available. The kitchen has been running since 2019 and has an established place in the social calendar of many members of the local community. We aim to tackle social isolation and this venture has proved that there is a want and a need for a friendly and welcoming meeting place within the area. There is a small library, social walks, friendship groups, exercise classes and many more based in the hub and advice from our Community Navigators regarding health and wellbeing is always available. Families play a big part in our hub and we have story times and craft sessions as well as family exercise and wellbeing sessions
