How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, Sainsbury's has donated money, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Home-Start Havering & Redbridge

Romford, UK

We are a children's charity which provides support to families with at least one child under the age of 5. We have been working in the borough of Havering since 1999. We have a proven track record of building strong relationships with parents/carers and their children, building trust and understanding. We create bespoke support for parents/carers and their children to enable them to live fulfilling lives. We know that to make a difference to children we need to make the whole family feel included and valued, they need to be listened to and treated with care, dignity and respect. Our approach incorporates the ethos of 'no wrong doors' so that no matter what the issue, parent/carers and their children will receive appropriate support, information and guidance, whilst being referred or connected to our local partners and other service providers. Our activities and services seek to address the impact of poverty and social exclusion within our community, which often has multiple causes including but not limited to the following factors, unemployment, homelessness, economic hardship, poverty. domestic abuse, physical health concerns and mental health and wellbeing. Towards the end of last year we had an opportunity to expand our service into the neighbouring borough of Redbridge and want to mirror our services here. We have already made good connections with health services, social services and schools and are seeing an increasing stream of referrals for our service.
