How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, Sainsbury's has donated money, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

We aim to ‘promote the well-being of the community in South Lanarkshire’, through reducing physical and social isolation, increasing health and well-being; increasing volunteering opportunities; and supporting local social enterprises. We are open to the whole community, with a focus on the older population. We provide a vital lifeline to the community with services including: Morning and afternoon call-line which provides a friendly check and chat. Activity Groups: IT classes; genealogy classes; walking group; gardening group; Thursday night social group, craft group, Armed Forces Social Group and exercise classes. Monthly tea dances and football classics group. Community transport: we have 4 mobility friendly minibuses available to collect members from home and bring them to our centre. This service is available to other community organisations. Access to excess stock: we work closely with Fareshare, Greggs and Neighbourly who supply us with excess stock to be shared with our members. In particular, these donations are used with to provide the members of our lunch clubs with something a little different, and to enable us to provide hospitality to many of our other groups. These collections happen throughout the week and our members are encouraged to take what they need. We work closely with partners to maximise the impact of our combined resources on our community. We facilitate other community groups including a monthly community café, a social enterprise offering support to young adults with additional support needs, yoga, Pilates, meditation classes, weight watcher classes, Royal Bank of Scotland and Citizen Advice Bureau advice drop in clinics. We are the venue for Tenant and Resident Association meetings, Community Council elections, counselling services etc.
