How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, Sainsbury's has donated money, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Worthing Soup Kitchen Sunday morning breakfasts

Worthing, UK

Every Sunday morning a team of volunteers from Worthing Soup Kitchen open up Saint Clares Day Centre, 6-8 Marine Place, Worthing. BN11 3DN. This is one of our homeless outreach points. We provide a full English breakfast with lots of hot drinks and toast. This is the only Sunday morning outreach service where clients can access food. Sunday had become known as "Suicide Sunday" amongst our clients group, as it was the one day of the week when day centres and public buildings were closed. We approached Saint Clares to see if we could provide this service and have now been doing this for over eight years. It is also an opportunity to do a welfare check on the clients. Provide dry clothing, support and advice. The clients all love Sunday mornings! This service also supports those who are in temporary accommodation without cooking facilities. We frequently have between 30 and 40 clients attend. With 51 being he record number of breakfasts made in one shift. A lot of expenses are incurred to provide this service, such as breakfast cartons, disposable cutlery, double-walled insulated cups and lids for hot drinks, never mind the breakfast items. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated by our clients. Please call 07984-766375 if you are able to help or email - worthingsoupkitchen@gmail.com THANK YOU!
