Mid-West Simon Community was established in 2006. Mid-West Simon reaches out to people who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or experiencing housing difficulties. We offer Long Term Housing, Transitional Housing, Tenancy Sustainment and Support, Advice Information and Advocacy, Budgeting Services and a drop in service for those that are homeless; programmes such as Housing First and a Family Hub offering high threshold emergency accommodation for families in Limerick City. Mid- West Simon also run 2 Supported Temporary Accommodation in Ennis, Co. Clare. The focus of this project is to provide wrap around supports to those in recovery and through mediums of training, education and activation programmes, build resilience to support clients to move on into independent living. Mid- West Simon Community provide onsite support to clients placed in emergency hotel accommodation in Ashford Court in Ennis also. Staff provide practical support advice and advocacy to clients placed in the accommodation in conjunction with Clare Co. Council. Mid-West Simon operates food banks in Limerick, Clare and a community food bank in Nenagh, Co. Tipperary. In addition to the food banks we have set up partnerships with community organisations to extend our reach into communities. The aim of Mid-West Simon Community is to eliminate homelessness and ensure that every person can exercise their right to a home in the Mid-West region of Limerick, Clare and North Tipperary. We work with people in the spirit of cooperation and community to provide appropriate quality standards in our care and support in housing provision. We campaign for legislative and policy changes in our vision to end homelessness.
