New Mills Youth and Community Project C.I.C. is a community interest company (company no.12440021) limited by guarantee, not shares. We are a not-for-profit organisation. Our aim is to benefit the community by facilitating a range of affordable and accessible support services for local individuals and families, as well as having a positive impact on the environment. We help as many people as we can in lots of different ways; our Community Pantry gives people access to affordable foods, toiletries and cleaning products, as well as redistributing surplus foods from local supermarkets which prevents waste and therefore has a positive impact on the environment. The surplus food from local supermarkets is collected by our organisation, brought back to our Community Pantry and given away for free to people so that it does not go to landfill instead. We run a Community Clothing Service and a School Uniform Service to provide people with an opportunity to access affordable clothing, shoes, bedding, towels, curtains etc and we also offer Early Essentials Equipment such as prams, cots, high chairs etc. We run a Community Book Shop selling books, dvds and cds and a Community Toy Shop where everything is sold at an affordable price to help individuals and families to save even more money, and all proceeds raised go straight back in to our project to support the work we do in the community. We provide craft activity packs for children during half-term holidays and we sponsor a local stay-and-play group to give families free access to a weekly social activity, we sponsor sewing classes and arts classes for children during half term to ensure as many local children as possible are accessing some of the best services our community offers when schools are closed. We rely on the income we generate ourselves as well as grant funding and donations from the public. No donation is ever too small or too big, we are grateful for anything! We are a voluntary group who run projects which enhance the community and help to create a healthier lifestyle. We provide a range of activities from food for families, home delivery service of hot meals for locally elderly or less mobile people. We provide work experience with a view to volunteers returning to full or part-time employment. In addition we run community events and meals throughout the year. We work closely with other agencies such as Derbyshire Police, DCC Care in the Community, the Community Cafe, the local schools and nursery and both Derbyshire County Council and High Peak Borough Council. We also offer training courses for individuals to aid employment. We are a local, inclusive group aiming to bring our community together to help and support people through hard times.. We will enhance opportunities and learning to create a healthier and more responsible lifestyle, healthy eating, budgeting, recycling…through regular signposting and activities provided at low or no cost to the community. We welcome everyone, believing we are all equal and entitled to respect, freedom from hardship and hope.

Crossroads Derbyshire (formerly High Peak Women's Aid) offers outreach, recovery and specialist services to adults, children and young people who are exposed to domestic and relationship abuse. Please help to keep our services running. In addition to the vital support we provide in the community, we offer a specialist five-bedded refuge which supports young women aged 16-24 and their children. We also have four move-on properties for those who are ready to leave the project. Food provided would benefit individuals and families in our refuge and the wider community.
