How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, Sainsbury's has donated money, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Hailsham, UK

We run a small community fridge in Hailsham 3 evenings a week. We collect waste food from local supermarkets over the weekends and holidays when other organisations are closed. We share with other organisations so nothing is wasted. Now smaller than before but with the same beliefs. Helping around 30 people a week. Free of charge, we are self sufficient.

Hailsham Community Allotment

Hailsham, UK

We are a community allotment based in Hailsham. We are currently running peer support groups that focus on The 5 ways to wellbeing directly from the allotment grounds. The groups support those that are feeling lonely or isolated in our community. We would like to continue to run these support groups throughout the winter months but need a big shed/summerhouse to shelter from the weather at times.

2nd Hailsham Scout Group

Hailsham, UK

2nd Hailsham Scout Group benefits young people (boys and girls) from 6 to 18 years old in the Hailsham and surrounding area. Across the various sections, we meet 4 times a week. Alongside the weekly meetings, we try to offer each section a weekend event (2 day camp, 2 hour competition or similar) every month. There is no denying that Scouting benefits young people. Some 89 per cent of young people and adults in Scouting identified that Scouting has helped them to build ‘key skills’ including social skills, team working and leadership. Future employers see improved key skills in those who have benefited from Scouting including increased character and personal development, higher confidence and social skills, and well better teamwork and leadership abilities. Our ethos is to ensure that ALL young people, regardless of income, colour or class has the ability to partake. Therefore we charge an absolute minimum for all activities and events. ALL our adult leadership team are unpaid volunteers. One key part of Scouting is camping and the adventure that goes with it, but we are held back by lack of equipment. Any funding will go towards purchasing equipment, assisting those who are unable to take part due to financial constraints, as well as towards minor repairs to our meeting place.
