Every day people in the UK go hungry, for a variety of reasons ranging from redundancy to receiving an unexpected bill on a low income. A simple box of food makes a big difference, and foodbanks help to prevent crime, housing loss, family breakdown and mental health problems. Schools, churches, businesses and individuals donate non-perishable, in-date food to a foodbank. Food is also collected at supermarkets. Volunteers sort the food to check that it’s in date, then pack it into boxes ready to be given to people in need. Weston Favell Centre Food Bank is run by a group of local churches on the eastern district of Northampton, an area of multiple deprivation. The food bank used to give out food parcels for about 500 people per month before the pandemic, but we saw a dramatic increase in need, and that demand has stayed high. We usually give out food parcels for around 1400 people per month now, and we also had to introduce a delivery service for people shielding and isolating. Any support you can give would be hugely appreciated.

Our aim is a life line for those with no means of buying: food, personal hygiene & cleaning items. Clients come through Referral Agencies ie Citizens Advice, Probation Service & Refuge Centres. We liaise with schools to support pupils' families. We need the following: FOOD Long Life Milk, Breakfast Cereals Tins of: Baked Beans, Spaghetti, Soups, Meat, Fish, Vegetables, Fruit, Rice Pudding Tea & Coffee Pasta, Pasta Sauces, Passata Biscuits Jam & Sugar PERSONAL HYGIENE Shower Gell, Shampoo, Soap. Deodorants - Mens & Women Toothpaste & Toothbrushes Sanitary Pads & Tampons HOUSEHOLD Toilet & Kitchen Rolls Washing Up Liquid Toilet Cleaner Kitchen Spray Washing Powder/Liquid

Hope is a progressive anti-poverty charity that works to improve the lives of anyone affected by poverty, especially homelessness, through services, training, campaigning and advocacy. we aim to continue to alleviate the immediate and ongoing impact of poverty, especially related to homelessness through providing basic services like food, clothing and shelter in our day centre.
