Connecting Crossgates gathers people together for good in Crossgates & East Leeds. We are a small grassroots charity, with 1 part-time manager who has lived locally for 25 years working with 2 part time staff and 60 volunteers. In partnership with local organisations, schools, community groups, churches and businesses, we CELEBRATE what is good, CREATE new ways to address needs and CARE for those who are vulnerable or need support. We focus on 4 key areas 1. Health & Wellbeing 2. Children/Young people & Families, 3. Sharing Information & Supporting one another 4. Exploring Faith & Spirituality. Our vision is to gradually offer more and more ways for people to connect and support one another in the community. Our current regular groups include... TUESDAY Poole Estate Community Group - 6-8pm Enjoy a cuppa in a relaxed supportive environment. Bring knitting or other crafts or just chat. Supervised children welcome. WEDNESDAY Craft & Chat - 1-3pm (1st & 3rd WED of the month) Do you enjoy making things? Bring along your own project or join the guided session with other makers. Music Hour - 1.30-2.30pm (2nd Wednesday of the month) Listen, join in or even perform! Led by local musicians. THURSDAY Chill - 1-3pm Is a peer support group for people with long term mental health difficulties. Enjoy a cuppa and bingo. THURSDAY & FRIDAY Community Fridge - Thursday 2-4pm and 6-7pm Friday 8.30-10.30am We re-distribute surplus food to help people save money and reduce food waste. Choose 12 items of food from our fridge and baskets for £3.50 FRIDAY Morethan 11am-1pm More than a tots group, more than a coffee morning – it’s an intergenerational community cafe open to all. Drop in for cake, company and friendly support. Three Thirds 1.30-3.00pm (1st Friday of the month) What does the Bible say? A chance to share stories, read the bestselling book of all time and talk about how to put it into practice. An informal time divided into 3 parts – open to all. SATURDAY Repair Café 11am-3pm (3rd Saturday of the month) Bring along your broken items and the team of volunteers will help you to fix it. HOLIDAY CLUBS We provide 4 days of fun and activities for children on free school meals or who are vulnerable during the Easter, Summer and Christmas holidays. CAROLS in the PARK Our Christmas event for the whole family brings everyone together outside over mulled wine and mice pies
