How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, Sainsbury's has donated money, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Community Kitchen Garden

Lewes, UK

We are inviting people to volunteer and gain skills in Gardening, horticultural and Nutrition Skills. By using organic products from the Garden we will be adding surplus produce from used by dated perishables from supermarkets to either make soups, smoothies or pickles. We intend to serve these during our gardening sessions in the Lewes F.C. stadium where the Garden is situated . This will also allow to sale our pickled products to make this project viable and sustainable. We are also linking with organisations caring and looking after vulnerable people especially victims of Hate Crime and Domestic abuse. Our project is aimed at creating a safe space where individuals can heal and create friendship and Networking links that builds confidence and future collaborations.

Lewes Open Door

Lewes, UK

Lewes Open Door provides support for homeless and other vulnerable people. We operate a lunchtime drop-in providing hot food, clothing and bedding. We need donations of processed and raw food, and related supplies At Lewes Open Door we aim to provide: - A daily drop-in centre where guests can get a nourishing meal, wash and collect clean clothes and bedding - Support with housing and benefits queries, filling in paperwork, access to the internet and contact details of agencies that may be able to offer additional support - A chance for our guests to have a chat and be listened to In 2017, Lewes resident, Thomas Schorr-Kon was increasingly concerned about the growing number of rough sleepers on our streets. So, with a group of like-minded people, he decided to do something about it by opening a drop-in day centre originally called Re-Homing Lewes. Our Drop-in We operate a lunch time drop in four days a week out of ChristChurch where we provide hot meals and drinks, a safe space to chat and where our volunteers can work with our guests helping to fill in forms, offer advice and friendly, non-judgemental support. Outreach Our volunteers also meet guests outside, do advocacy work for them accompany them to interviews etc. This is an important, much appreciated and rewarding part of the work we do.
