How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, Sainsbury's has donated money, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

We already provide a Foodbank via Trussell Trust but many people turn up without the necessary documentation to allow us to provide food. Therefore our group, using its own funding, started an emergency food provision for those in our community who are desperate, over and above a Foodbank. Those who fall through the Foodbank net. We also work with local schools to provide names of families where children may be especially in need. We do this on a weekly basis.. At present we can only provide for two families as our resources are very limited. We use the churches kitchen, where we operate from, to also run a free Coffee/Tea and toast Coffee Morning on Monday mornings, where a warm and welcoming place is provided for clients of Foodbank or others who just want a place to relax and chat. This helps to combat loneliness in the community and a place where advice can be offered. The food boxes we provide contain recipes on how to cook the fresh meat and vegetables provided together with reading and drawing books for the children. These are age and gender appropriate. We have also recognised a need for good second hand clothing, which we collect and redistribute. The same is done for toys. This helps to eleviate debt and poverty in our community and promotes a feeling of wellbeing.
