In these unprecedented times, we have an amazing opportunity to show an overflow of kindness to each other. Our aim is to support families and vulnerable people within our community by partnering with local food banks, collecting financial donations, non-perishable items and toiletries. This campaign was launched at the start of this crisis with the aim to support families and individuals who have been affected in some way by the current situation. Together with support from local councils, schools and the Emsworth Alliance, we have received referrals with lists people who would benefit from this initiative.

Secondary School. We would like to build seating areas for our students to enjoy during break and lunch times. We would like these areas to have plants and flowers to make them colourful and to attract wildlife. These areas will also be used by our photography students to take photos to add to their portfolio, some of our students to not have the opportunity to take photos like this at home. To build these areas we will need timber, plywood, fence posts and panels, screws and sharp sand. In addition to this we also need gardening items such as plants, potting soil and pots. For our technology department we are hoping to source items such as white fabric, white cotton, coloured paper and card, art and craft items including pens, pencils and felt tips, cellophane and plastics. The students use plastics and materials to make new items such as bags. This also highlights the importance and benefits of recycling, upcycling and sustainability, which we feel is an important lesson for students to learn. We are looking to even out our paving slabs in our outside areas so it is accessible for all students, as currently wheelchair and frame users are finding it diificult to go over them as they are extremely uneven due to tree roots pushing them up. We have now removed the trees but now need to work on the slabs, for this we need sharp sand and kiln-dried sand.
