In these unprecedented times, we have an amazing opportunity to show an overflow of kindness to each other. Our aim is to support families and vulnerable people within our community by partnering with local food banks, collecting financial donations, non-perishable items and toiletries.
This campaign was launched at the start of this crisis with the aim to support families and individuals who have been affected in some way by the current situation. Together with support from local councils, schools and the Emsworth Alliance, we have received referrals with lists people who would benefit from this initiative.

MUNCH at Park Community School.

MUNCH at Park Community School brings people together across Leigh Park and Havant, tackling hunger and loneliness through free hot meals, activities, friendship and practical support for children, families, older generations and people living alone.
Launched in 2017 to tackle holiday hunger, MUNCH is supported by Park Community Ventures, registered charity 1134562. We operate from Park Community School and its Dickinson Centre, Middle Park Way, Havant, PO9 4BU.
We welcome people who need help with food costs, are experiencing loneliness or illness, or simply want company and a warm welcome. Our community meals are open to people beyond the school's own pupils and their families.
Our work includes free two-course school holiday lunches, Thursday meals during term time, and free holiday activities, games, crafts and learning through play. These give children opportunities to have fun and families time together without extra pressure on their budgets.
Connect 4 Generations offers a friendly place to chat and enjoy company, with free hot drinks and light refreshments. Our free Christmas Day gathering brings together families, older people and those who might otherwise spend the day alone for a festive meal, companionship and celebration. Christmas Day places must be booked.
The MUNCH Community Pantry helps household budgets go further: members pay a £5 weekly subscription and choose their own groceries. Our community fridge also provides emergency food support. Suitable surplus donations help supply our meals, pantry and emergency support, reducing food waste while benefiting local people.
Alongside MUNCH, Park Community Ventures supports Connect4Families/Youth holiday programmes and YES (Young Explorers Squad) trips, helping eligible children and young people enjoy activities, new experiences and opportunities to build confidence.
In 2023/24, MUNCH served 9,788 meals, provided 895 emergency meals and welcomed more than 140 Christmas guests.
We particularly welcome regular surplus food donations, funding and volunteer help with collections, sorting donations, serving meals, activities and community events. Craft materials, games and new Christmas gifts are also valuable. Local businesses and community partners can help us keep these services welcoming and accessible.
Every donation and volunteered hour helps us bring generations together, ease financial pressure and make sure more people feel included and cared for.
