Rumney Forum is a community-led charity that provides help and support to people throughout Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. We have a free school uniform/supplies scheme to all parents and carers struggling to make ends meet. We provide baby items, clothes (baby-adult), toys, household appliances and much more free to families in need. We are fareshare partner to help prevent food waste and food poverty. In addition to Fareshare we have an emergency pantry which is available Monday-Friday. Rumney Forum also run a Borrow don’t Buy project where we loan items out that people have donated they no longer need, saving items from landfill. We have a community cafe and also run community groups and events throughout the year.

We have recently been provided with a 'Big Bocs Bwyd' to help serve our local community. The Big Bocs Bwyd (BBB) is a project that is recognised by the Welsh Assembly Government and has been successfully established in many parts of Wales. The project aims to provide affordable priced food to families in the community who may need support. BBBs are converted shipping containers that serve as a ‘pay as you feel’ shop. Food poverty is an issue for many of our families A significant increase in pupils entitled to FSM and discussions with parents has revealed that there is not enough accessible support in the local community. There also appears to be stigmatism around accessing food banks, therefore, having a BBB onsite will ensure our community has somewhere to go when needed. This is a non profit organisation. All monies rasied will go towards purchasing food for the Big Bocs Bwyd.
