How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, Sainsbury's has donated surplus food, money and products, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Hangar Community Hub

Cardiff, UK

We help people live a more positive lifestyle by engaging in a healthy community at our gym. Groups we help include Homeless, Young Homeless people, victims of domestic abuse and young people who are referred by other services. We get lots of positive outcomes and created our Community Hub to provide volunteering opportunities and the feel-good factor of helping others. We have lots and lots of plans for great causes this year! The Hangar Community Hub is located at the Hangar Human Performance Centre, a combat sports and strength gym based in Penarth Road, Cardiff. We offer Sports Training to the local community and we train for fitness, and to compete. However that isn’t all that we offer. Grocery Donations We help people develop employability skills, by volunteering their time at the Hangar Food Pantry. Our volunteers will gain a Level 2 or 3 Food Hygiene Award and learn how to help people through preparing food packages for those in need. We help people learn about nutrition and health whilst they volunteer and they can also get involved in the many activities we offer at the gym. Our world is full of need. We don't always know where that need is, but we can help alleviate some of it by volunteering and helping others. This will always make us feel good! And if you’re looking for a place to volunteer, why not try here? Combat Sports and Strength Training We offer a range of Combat Sports and Strength Training programs to adults, children, and the elderly to improve self-confidence, life skills, social inclusion, healthy living, and overall physical health. Participating in sport helps people gain self-confidence, and a wide range of other skills. Stop by for your next training session!
