The fridge is open on Mondays and Wednesdays only from 11am-1pm. Community fridges fight food waste and support local people. They do this by collecting leftover food from businesses, then making it available to local residents and community groups. This includes individuals with limited access to affordable fresh and nutritious food. Businesses providing surplus for the fridge, benefit from: 1) A free service collecting food that would otherwise be thrown away, helping your organisation become a zero waste business. 2) Another opportunity for your organisation to contribute social, supporting the local community, in particular individuals who are in financial hardship. 3)For businesses, the chance to be credited as a business champion in the Community Fridge's promotional materials, online pages and press. The charity offers residential, nursing and dementia care to older people in care homes on nine sites across england. we operate day care centres and a free-to-access grants service for individuals, and work to combat the devastating effects of loneliness among older people through community engagement, including a community connector programme at our woking hub.

Woking Foodbank is a local project, using volunteers, who collect, sort, store and distribute food donated from within the community. Our Foodbank provides three days worth of emergency food to local people in crisis. Visitors to our Foodbank are referred via local frontline agencies and charities such as Woking Borough Council and such charities as the York Road Project and YMCA Woking. There are many people in the Woking area who are living in poverty, despite popular misconception. Woking Foodbank is here to help people or families in need by providing emergency supplies of food to stop hunger. Our support is not a means to an end, but it can bring relief to members of our community who are in a crisis and cannot afford to eat. In a time of crisis, the food we offer along with a feeling that they are understood and that local people want to help them makes a real difference to our Foodbank visitors.
