EMS Ltd is an incorporated charity that has been operational since November 2009. We work with, residents, community groups and local businesses to alleviate food and fuel poverty. Basically, we proved food to families who may otherwise go without. Our services operate under the following company objectives: Growing: Developing community allotments, growing spaces and edible gardens on unused land so residents can grow produce close to their homes. We also have a therapy allotment that is available for organisations to use. Energy: Offer a range of practical energy saving equipment, support and advice so residents can save money on their fuel bills. Food: The Hull Community Shops we turn surplus produce collected from supermarkets/suppliers into affordable food for residents in food poverty. We have seven shops operating around the Hull. Cooking on a Budget sessions; working with residents to improve their cooking skills in a social setting. Freedom Food Project; cooking nutritious ready-meals (priced at £3.50) for up to a family of four and delivered to community fridges located around Hull. Nature: Environmental education in schools including tree/seed planting, along with the building of bug hotels and bird/bat boxes. Actively recruiting and working with volunteers with various abilities on all of our services to increase their self-confidence, health and general well-being. Working with partner organisations, residents, and community groups to develop effective projects that effect change. Impact: Within our various projects we support over 89,000 residents annually this figure increases year on year as the cost of living continues to rise.

The Hub School is a specialist provision for students with Social Emotional Mental Health Needs. We are able to support our students by offering extra support for their emotional wellbeing as well as a tailored learning package. Our students are transported in door to door from across the East Riding of Yorkshire and we offer a free breakfast package and free school meals as well as snacks throughout the day. We work in conjunction with local foodbanks to support our families and help to enable them to have less pressure for some essential items. Many of our staff donate to ensure hampers are sent home at Christmas and Easter to every student on our site. Our belief is that The Hub School is transforming lives.

We provide 30 en suite rooms in purpose built accommodation located central to Hull town centre, we provide a bed and a reason to get out of it. Our project aims to support people into independence through working in our range of social enterprises. We have furniture superstores, full catering kitchen, charity shops, café, collection & delivery service and a rough sleeper outreach team. We have a core training offer available to our residents, who are call companions. Functional skills are a key focus and we have accredited training on site. We have links with employers to provide work experience in a variety of areas. Solidarity is a large part of our ethos and we work hard to be involved in the local community and give back where we can. We are contracted to provide the rough sleeper outreach provision for Hull and East Riding local authority. We have companions who physically go out and directly support those who are living on the streets into accommodation, health services and anything else that they need.
