Surplus To Purpose (SToP) is an environmental enterprise which specialise in the interception of surplus food destined for waste. This produce may be past Best Before, suffered accidental damage or surplus to requirements. Trained personnel record, process and quality control all intercepted food, to ensure it is safe for consumption. This food is then redistributed through various activities such as; boxes for families, outside catering & events, Pay As You Feel cafes and into schools. SToP intercepts approximately 1,000 tons per year at its headquarters in Leeds - the equivalent of 2.3 million meals per year. A majority of the produce we intercept is perishable items such as fruit & vegetables, and bakery goods. However, we also intercept frozen meat & fish, chilled dairy items and non perishable items such as dry goods, drinks and confectionary. In 2022 SToP aims to become the U.K.s largest caterer of events using intercepted produce. From weddings, to conferences, birthdays and work lunches, we wish to provide environmental alternatives to mainstream providers of contract catering. Our mission is to Feed Bellies Not Bins, whilst educating people on the inhumane amounts of edible food wasted every year in the U.K. All of our spaces are inclusive, and all the food we intercept is available to all. Our organisation was created in October 2020 during the coronavirus period to support our community with foodbank/foodshare, jobs and accommodation, also we offer various community events,programmes and projects funded by various organisations such as Leeds community foundation, Leeds city council and central government, Arnold Clark Community Fund.We have given out up to date free food percel to support families in hardship worth more than £150,000.00, also our recent partnership with Neigbourly,Fareshare, collection of food items from M&S Foods Tesco,Asda,Morrisons,Aldi, and Hamara Health Living Leeds have really boosted up our foodshare programme feeding the community, tackling food waste witjin our community, our challenges is the logistics collection and distribution,and we now have a van to support 100% our weekly for our mobile van foodbank/foodshare programmes for collection and redistribution of this food items as to continue to to help people in deprived areas going through hard times, every charity and community group are stretched and we need more support that support now more than ever before.

Meeting Point runs a weekly drop-in for refugees and asylum seekers. Up to 120 adults and 25 children attend this drop-in each week. We provide a range of long and short term support services, including food parcels, a hot meal and refreshments, clothes, computer and internet use, help and advice, conversation Café, English class, children's activities and women's group. During the week we also run additional support groups, which vary throughout the year, and also a Women's Group which meets weekly. Many of our beneficiaries are destitute and surviving on little or no income. We are quite literally a lifeline for many who attend.
