St Paul's Community pantry supports homeless by giving out food on the streets in an evening and providing emergency parcels . We send baskets of hope for less well off pupils in schools , We hold a community lunch every Friday.11.45 for a hot lunch .

We run a community pantry open to anyone in need of food, it is run on surplus food collections our aim is to feed as many families as we can We run our pantry from a local church/community centre. We have 580 members and growing all the time . Our pantry users queue from 3 hours before, showing the great need in the community. There is absolutely no charge to come in and fill your basket/bags provided . If anyone wants to leave a small donation then we are very appreciative . We have a church pantry bank account which we bank the donations every week. We manage to buy all our weekly pantry needs from this, such as bags, containers, hygiene gloves, thermometers, temperature charts, pat testing, cleaning stuff and also hire a large commercial bin and emptying service. We don’t have a large amount left as send to our local community farm and for composting at our local allotments. A no profit lunch club is also run by the church and community centre in the next room, the users are brought in by community transport buses, local buses, cars and by foot . This is very important for the elderly and disabled as some dont see anyone week to week. They also enjoy using our pantry We recently were invited to have a table at a question and answer event at another nearby centre. We were amongst other local organisations such as. Local environment groups, renewable energy advice, transport, recycling etc. we found this valuable as got a lot of interesting questions asked which helped us to understand exactly what the locals want. . We also collect donations from fareshare . We have had visits from local MPs, environmental health and have got a 5 star hygiene rating on our door and hold hygiene certificates ourselves . We would like to open on another day with support . Our volunteers are amazing, we have a great team .

Wellbeing Cafe is a project based in the University of Sheffield's Students' Union, with a proactive focus on community, social eating, and sustainability. We are entirely volunteer run and use surplus food from local supermarkets to make pay as you feel vegan/vegetarian meals, previously our capacity was 100+ but with recent space changes we are currently working to 70+. Our first ever Wellbeing Cafe was in October 2016 with hopes to form a space that aims to holistically tackle some of the key welfare issues for students, by creating a feeling of community and overcoming isolation. Since then, we have been running once a week on term-time Mondays. Wellbeing Café has been using Neighbourly since 2021 to support the operation post COVID when our previous providers had taken a hit from the pandemic. We are famous for our herby or spicy chips, but we keep our guests on their toes cooking anything from soups to curries to pastas and salads inclusive of allergens and dietary preferences, plus every week we try to make a creative dessert with our surplus. The cafe is pay as you feel but there is a recommend donation of £2.50. Fortunately thanks to our providing supermarkets we often have lots of bread, cans and snacks that give our guests some dignity in choice and be able to stock up for the next week. We appreciate any fresh food (vegetables, fruit, and bread), as well as store cupboard staples and canned food. We are currently collecting from Sainsburys Wadsley Bridge, Sainsburys Archer Road as well as Aldi Flora St. We promote on our Instagram mainly and throughout the university. Via our Instagram and during the event we take feedback from our guests on how to make access easier, whether that be tickets and queuing, inclusivity of the space or future events. We often run the café alongside craft events, live music and boardgames which provide an environment not only for a warm affordable meal but with an emphasis on fun, sharing and community. We offer people the opportunity to volunteer in our kitchens, pot wash and front of house, it is a large operation but we are fortunate to have such a great community of volunteers who truly value the reciprocity of the project. Wellbeing Café is a non-profit so any money made is reinvested in the project as well as recently we have been able to start donating to charities such as local foodbanks and MAP, as well as supporting Sheffield's Student Action For Refugees. We have also worked with ShefFood, a local food partnership to help them better understand the food network and system in the local community.
