Footprints in the Community is a charitable incorporated organisation which aims to establish a variety of services under one umbrella to help address isolation and poverty in Redcar and surrounding areas, and to provide a network of support to local people and organisations. Our projects include: - Redcar Area Foodbank provides emergency food and support to anyone facing food poverty due to a crisis. Our centres offer a warm welcome and a parcel containing food for at least three days. Clients are also offered a warm drink and snack. Each centre has a Citizens Advice Outreach Worker to offer 1:1 suppor and advice and to signpost to other services. - First Steps - provides pre-loved baby equipment and/or clothing packs to families who are struggling to get the baby essentials together. - The Shed - The Shed is a sociable woodworking and creative space where members can work on their own projects in an informal and supportive setting. It's perfect for anyone with a passion for woodworking, or who's always wanted to give it a go but never had access to the tools to try. We have a wide range of hand and bench tools and our staff and skilled volunteers are on hand to provide guidance. - Next Step Shop - Our Next Step Shop can be a lifeline for anyone who regularly struggles to afford food. They are easy to use, low cost shops which members can visit once a week and pay a small subsidised fee to choose a selection of food items from the shelves. There's also non-food items, sanitary products and often a choice of bread and fresh produce which members can also select from. - Footprints Café - is a community café run that offers high-quality meals at low cost to people in the local community. - Lunch Box Project - Our lunchbox project provides opportuniities for families of primary-age children to enjoy fun activities together, keeping little ones busy during school holidays without breaking the bank. Our friendly and approachable staff and volunteers run fun sessions of crafts and lego, whilst our guest providers offer the chance to try something new, like amazing circus skills. We help fill tummies too, as every child is offered a tasty and nutritious breakfast, snack or lunch. - Our New Start project provides packs of small homeware items to people who are struggling with the essentials of setting up a home. People can be referred by a Foodbank centre, Next Step Shop or any of our other referral agencies. Items included in New Start packs: bedding, towels, pans, utensils, cutlery, crockery, kettles, toasters and cleaning packs. - Reflections Dementia Support is a safe, friendlly group for people living with dementia, their families and carers. However dementia has touched your life, join our friendly and compassionate volunteers for a cuppa and a chat at one of our regular get togethers.

We are a constituted community group based in Dormanstown, Redcar. We were officially formed in 2006 but have been together running events since 2004. Our purpose is usually bringing people together. We have a weekly youth club every Wednesday where children can take part in many activities in a friendly and safe environment. We have a twice weekly dance class thats 50p per session, this is aimed at young kids and is ideal for parents on low incomes who cannot afford the costs of usual kids dance classes. We also run quarterly events such as Easter parties, community gala's days, Christmas parties and a firework display which brings people in from miles around without the huge costs usually associated with events. We also work fantastically well with other local groups. With these groups we have quarterly tea dances for pensioners, race nights for charity groups like adults with learning difficulties and host various Christmas parties. Covid stopped all that in a second. Now we have tailored what we do to suit the needs of the community. We have leaflet dropped all of our community (2,500 homes) with a information leaflet and contact numbers, we help people get tests, advice for people but our main concern is social isolation. We have sourced and purchased goods to make over 800 food parcels for those shielding, vulnerable or pensioners. We have made up 4,500 packed lunches for school kids to have on a weekend (well before holiday vouchers etc became a national issue with footballers highlighting issues) we have delivered over 350 afternoon teas for isolating pensioners, 1,600 fruit bags delivered 500 veg bags delivered and countless other ideas that mean we can keep in touch with the community and help out at times of need. When allowed we ran a socially distanced social. Where on one afternoon we did pensioners free hot drinks, and sandwiches and cakes. Initially 26 people came along. In the end we went fortnightly because of other commitments but the last week we ran before lockdown we had 76 pensioners visit with us. (each week would see numbers rise, averaging about 50-60) We have out fruit, goods donated from Morrisons, hand sanitiser etc to people attending to give them a perk, played some bingo. The people loved it because they struggled to see others in a safe environment,

Linking Routes works with children, young people and their families to promote positive family life and relationships by providing supportive activities for all. This year we have started a campaign to make some hampers for the families we work with. As we know, Christmas is a great time to spend with family and spread happiness. Sometimes, financial stresses and worries can take the joy out of Christmas so we would like to provide hampers to those in need to ensure everyone's Christmas can be as joyful as possible!
