Hollybrook School Fund
Glasgow, UK
Hollybrook Academy is an Additional Support Needs Secondary School in Govanhill, Glasgow. We want our students to develop self-confidence and to become responsible and caring global citizens. They are amazing! We strive to reduce inequality, celebrate diversity and raise achievement and therefore, our students need to gain employability skills. However, it is very difficult for students to transfer those skills into the world of work for the lack of work experience opportunities, particularly after the pandemic. We established a partnership with a local church where students will prepare, cook and serve healthy and tasty meals for local residents who may benefit from having an opportunity for a friendly social interaction and a hot meal. Students will gain real work experience, with social purpose, in a nurturing and safe environment. We need surplus of food and catering resources for the success of our Very Special Café. About The Hollybrook Fund: The Hollybrook School Fund was constituted to advance the education provided by the school and to spend funds raised to obtain the provision of additional educational resources, and to finance extra-curricular activities which cannot be completely financed from public funds allocated to the school by Glasgow City Council in disposition of its statutory responsibility.
