The People’s Pantry is a membership-led shop providing access to affordable, nutritious, and culturally appropriate food, as well as household essentials. Anyone who lives in the G41/G42 postcode areas can become a Pantry member for £6 a year. After joining, members can shop weekly for £4 and fill their baskets with purchases up to the value of £30.

We have been actively running a Pantry based in Greater Pollok with over 1000 member to date. The Pantry is struggling to keep up with the demand and could do with any help it can get. It means families can access food in a dignified manner as they get to choose the items that they actually want instead of getting food that is no use.

Adult services provide support for 51 people. This support varies according to individual need and requests. Some supports are in housing and others are community based. Both supports are to allow people to live as independent lives as possible, achieve their potential, and fully participate in their community. Adult services also provide groups support at which anyone can attend. We run Yoga, Computing, Art, Creative Writing, Drama, and Health and Fitness at our base in May Terrace. Every person has an individual support plan. Within these are each individual’s personal details and a timetable specific to their weekly activities. Activities can vary from horse-riding, to support with college. Supports range from 4 hours to 40 hrs per week. Adult services are dynamic, evolving and centred on the people we support. Workers need to be flexible to deal with the daily life choices of the people supported.
